Leo Oliva: Food on the Santa Fe Trail

  • McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation 1111 East Kansas Avenue McPherson, KS, 67460 United States (map)

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail, the McPherson County Historical Society and the McPherson Museum presents historian, Leo Oliva to share his knowledge about food on the Santa Fe Trail.

Do you have questions about what food supplies they took on the trail? Or what kind of food they secured along the trail? What did travelers say about the food? What about food for military troops on the trail and at forts? And the most important question: did they have ice cream on the Santa Fe Trail? Find out on July 23 at 7pm. Presentation is free to the public.
